Title: Senior Systems Software Engineer

Job Type: Full-Time Regular

Location: San Jose, CA

 

Description:

Omneon MediaGrid is a scalable high performance shared storage system for storing, sharing and serving media files. Using standard IT hardware and high speed Ethernet networking, MediaGrid is highly scalable and includes a built-in clustered file system designed and tuned for digital media workflows. As we continue to experience growth, we are looking for an excellent Systems Software Engineer. You will be part of a fast paced and tightly knit team which prides in its innovative skills and ability to deliver high quality systems in short time spans.

 

This engineer will work independently and as part of a team to design, develop, enhance, maintain code for use in distributed storage systems. You will be responsible for working on components on the data path of the storage product.

 

The successful candidate must have good communication skills, a willingness to learn and great problem solving skills.

 

Required Job Skills:

• Proven ability to write high quality systems software in C or C++ and corresponding test infrastructure (Python, Perl, shell scripting, etc).

• Experience with standard Unix/Linux BSD socket APIs

• Hands on experience with TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet and networking internals

• Should be well versed with Data Structures & algorithms, Multithreading and optimization

• Understand issues around performance and scalability under heavy loads

• Unit test development experience

• Experience with data path in a storage subsystem is a plus.

• Storage technologies and File system expertise is a plus

• Kernel and device driver programming experience is a plus

 

Years of Direct Experience Required:

4 years or more

Areas of Direct Experience:

Proven ability to write high quality systems software in C or C++ and corresponding test infrastructure (Python, Perl, shell scripting, etc).

 

Educational Requirements:

B.S or MS in CS or CE
