Job Title: C/C++ Developer with networking (TCP/IP, Linux) experience

Location: Gaithersburg, MD

Length: 12 months

 

Hughes is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Development Engineering team.

 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

·         Proof of concepts on new innovations.

·         Work within a team to design, and develop software systems.

·         Work on test automation with large scale systems.

·         Product and System Documentation.

·         Reviewing current systems and presenting ideas for system improvements.

·         Work closely with internal operations team to help debug system related issues.

 
Required Qualifications:

·         Master's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience in development  in networking technologies.

·         At least 7-8 years of experience in software development in C.

·         At least 5 years of experience in development related to networking technologies.

·         In depth understanding of programming concepts, and object oriented methodologies.

·         Excellent knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP)

·         Real world experience with Linux Operating System

·         Excellent troubleshooting skills.

·         Scripting skills (e.g., Perl, Python, shell scripting)

·         Excellent written and verbal communications skills

·         Excellent teamwork skills, result oriented and self-motivated.
