Client is seeking a results-oriented candidate with a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate abundant skills and experience as an IT manager in environments where projects is centered around highly complex sets of business models with a full complement of technology based solutions applied to support the business models. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are required. The position will be responsible for working with project teams and key stakeholders to help successfully provide enablement to multiple vendors during the development, design, installation (DDI) stages of the project. Additionally, the IT Manager supports a team of direct reports and will provide work assignments, guidance, and effective decision assistance to both the supported team members and to other State staff including the senior staff manager.
In addition to the above, the candidate will have demonstrated strength in managing IT projects with a high degree of experience, knowledge, and skills in managing data needs for multiple projects where the projects are replacing legacy solutions and the needs to identity data source are complex and diverse based on the number of source systems and the extent of the legacy system data structure The data needs include data conversion, data interfaces, data provisioned through user interfaces, data the is provisioned from sources that may be changing as the replacement projects are progressing through the DDI cycle. This position will lead an IT Technical Services team in support of the data needs for multiple replacement projects including a multi-system transaction based solution, an OLAP based solution, and a transaction based solution serving an intergral State agency in their business objectives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:
· Managing a team that provides technical knowledge, skills, and experience across all facets of a systems replacement project.
· Strength in managing a large effort involving data from many source or entities where the objectives are to identify the need to convert the legacy historical data artifacts, or to establish new data interfaces or modify existing data interfaces for external data interfaces, to work with the business owners in the development of user interfaces, and to provide oversight and management to the vendors during their production of the project deliverables.
· Strength in software lifecycle development including configuration managment, change control, and change management
· Strength in working across matrixed teams for the purpose of obtaining buy-in, agreement, and or approval within all stakeholder organizations
· Ability to act as a contributor to all matters technology or technical in natures.
· Minimum 10 years of progressive, successful experience with technical solutions involving complex data management at all levels necessary for the data needs of replacing complex legacy systems. The experience can include internal data conversions and/or migrations but should also include external data interfaces with other entities.
