Job Requirement and Responsibilities:

 

These positions serve as IT Software Testers within WSDOT with specialized knowledge and expertise in IT software testing methodology.

The VRS Project is vital to the efficient utilization of assets managed by the Washington State Department of Transportation. The system is currently under development using a combination of tools, including C#, asp.NET, and Enterprise Architect. Portions of the solution will also be integrated with programs written in Embarcadero Technologies' Delphi 4GL.

The following working experience and/or demonstrated skills are mandatory:

Required Skills:

Mandatory Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Years of experience Where documented in Resume
Minimum of 8 years experience in IT Software Testing
Minimum of 6 years organizing and coordinating the participation of customer groups and project staff involved in the testing process.
Minimum of 6 years experience working with software application development projects that follow the software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and best practices.
Minimum of 5 years developing Test Plans including: Test Scripts, Traceability Matrices, Problem Tracking Reports, and Status Reports
Minimum of 4 years experience working with the Unified Modeling Language (UML); specifically Use Cases.
Minimum of 4 years experience translating Use Cases into Test Cases.
Minimum of 4 years experience estimating time and effort of testing related tasks based on agency and software development lifecycle methodologies

Work Experience must include: Years of experience Where documented in Resume
Testing of software application development projects that are .Net applications (web-based)
Testing of software application development projects that are N-tier applications
Strong communication skills with management, customers, and staff.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Years of experience:

Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems
Knowledge and skill using the MS Office Suite
Knowledge and skill using MS Visio
Knowledge and skills using Sparx Systems' Enterprise Architect (system development tool)
Knowledge and skills in gathering and documenting business requirements

Knowledge and skills creating UML documentation including Use Case diagrams and wireframes.
Knowledge and ability to conduct the User Acceptance Testing process
