PROFILE SUMMARY

• Progress Database Subject Matter Expert

 
TOTAL YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

• 7+ years of experience

 
MANDATORY SKILLS & RESPONSIBILITIES
 

• L3 level knowledge of Progress DB administration
• Familiar with OpenEdge (OE) application development including 4GL, WebSpeed and AppServer to communicate effectively
• Expert in multi volume databases
• Excellent knowledge of perl and shell scripting

• Competent with OE Replication Competent with all aspects of OE v10/11 & 12 database administration

• Design logical & physical architecture of database and file organization of databases.  Experienced in capacity planning & managing database growth
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to business team in a clear and concise manner
• Implementation of HIPPA/SOX/PCI and Validated policies for object access, auditing and setup of new environment
• Advising on and implementing database optimization, performance and tuning
• Plan, implement and maintain Disaster Recovery methodology
• Review the DB changes and ensure DB objects (Tables, views, stored procedures, triggers and constraints), SQL statements, and database migration scripts meet performance and security objectives
• Partner with project teams and interact with customers to find solutions for projects and operational issues for existing and proposed new DBs
• Experience in working with global teams (onshore and offshore) is a must                                                                                        
• ITIL Certified Preferred
• On-call responsibilities                                                                   

 
TECHNICAL SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
 
Certifications

• ITIL Certified – A plus
• Oracle Certified professional - preferred

 
 Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Engineering or in Computer Science
