Position: Mid to Sr. Mainframe DB2 DBA
Location: Baltimore, MD area
Duration: At least 24 months with automatic extensions

Labor Category and Education: ITS3--CANDIDATES need to have either a BS or MS with 11 years experience in Computer Science or equivalent. Experience can be a combination of either U.S. or overseas, part time or in college). Face to face and/or SKYPE MAY be required.

Position Description:
This work effort involves providing DB2 DBA maintenance and development support of mainframe DB2 application databases in all environments (development, validation, integration, and production). The resource will migrate the database through the life cycle and create the maintenance jobs to support the database in all environments as it goes through them. The DBA will be required to create/maintain the physical data model in ERwin. The DBA will be participating in the troubleshooting of slow running applications to determine modification to enhance performance. Direct interaction with the application development teams will be required.

Skills Requirements:

·         At least 5 years of DB2 DBA experience

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Mainframe DB2 DBA experience at least Version 9, Version 10 experience is a bonus.

·         Prior experience in mainframe application development accessing DB2 databases.

·         A strong knowledge of SQL.

·         Experience with CA or BMC DB2 (or similar) tools.

·         Experience with ERwin Model Manager.

·         Ability to independently research problems and provide solutions.

·         Will be required to provide weekend/off-hours support.

·         Experience with Ommegamon for DB2 desired

·         May be requested to mentor client/LM staff

 
NOTE: CANDIDATES will be required to go through a background check for a Public Trust clearance. This means candidates should have NO misdemeanors, felonies, excessive traffic tickets or credit issues in their background.

 

***Prefer U.S. Citizens or Green cardholders. H1B's are okay with outstanding language skills. For out of town candidates, client MAY do a SKYPE phone screen or initial phone interview and may be required to come for a face to face. Local candidates will do in-person interviews. Prefer candidates local to mid-Atlantic region. ****
