Location: Woonsocket /Providence RI
Duration: 6+ Months
Job purpose:
• We are looking for a senior Web app developer to be part of the design, development and maintenance of Web and Cross-platform apps.
• The developer will be associated throughout the entire app lifecycle right from concept stage until delivery and post launch support.
• Apps will be mainly content based and integrated closely with web services and developed using Altimetrik's custom development and design frameworks.
• In addition to delivering the product the successful candidate will be involved in initiatives for the AnyDevice Enterprise Mobility Group.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Independently build and test complex multi-tiered Web Apps and UI Framework Components, which will be re-used across different LOBs of a major financial services institution.
· Primary technologies will be HTML5 Stack, various JS frameworks and Windows 10 containers.
· Work with architects to create clean, organized code in an easily enhanced and maintained structure.
· Coordinate with other teams and with customer as needed.
· Write detailed technical documentation to allow easy hand-offs to other team members.
Soft Skills specification:
· Proven commercial software development experience – desktop and mobile
· Published examples of mobile applications on the App store or the Android market
· Excellent knowledge in information architecture, human computer interaction and usability design principles
· A track record of delivering successful consumer and or business products
· Ability to use analytic data and user testing to inform design decision
· A passion for new consumer technology and the emerging media landscape
· Ability to multi task and good time management skills
· Ability to work on their own and as a part of the team
· Excellent scoping and estimation skills and Excellent testing/ QA skills
· Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to liaise with various departments locally and internationally
Essential Technical skills:
· HTML5/CSS/JS
· A positive, innovative, energizing, collaborative work style is required
· Ability to think of Apps as a collection of interconnected Components with atomic and connected data and user behaviors.
· Working knowledge on a variety of JavaScript libraries and frameworks
· Must Have: Backbone/Angular JS/RequireJS. Nice to have: ReactJS /Node Js.
· 2-4 years of HTML/CSS development experience, with a track record of well designed, cross-browser compatible, accessible, well-structured websites.
· Expert abilities with HTML and CSS
· Solid JavaScript (AJAX, DHTML, and jQuery)
· Good communications skills and an ability to clearly articulate and defend UX decisions to a wide audience
· Strong desire and skills to create ground breaking user interfaces.
· Solid semantic HTML a plus
· Excellent knowledge of typography, layout and color theory
